Classmates and guests of the Elizabethtown High School Class of 1960 gathered Aug. 3 in Elizabethtown at Back Home Catering’s Room 62 for their 59th reunion, with 33 in attendance.
Attendees spent time in fellowship and reminiscing over class photos and memorabilia prior to gathering for the official class photographs. Janie Elmore Logsdon said the blessing before the buffet meal was served. She remembered Priscilla Carr Wyant, a classmate lost since our last reunion, as well as all 28 deceased classmates and those who were unable to be with us because of illness.
Class President Louis Kerrick welcomed the group and presented his traditional Presidential Gold Coin Awards. Betty Hart Beliveau provided a brief treasurer’s report and Tom Barnard reported on classmates with whom we have lost contact.
A discussion of next year’s reunion was led by Jim Hatcher, Bob Jenkins, and Sandy Ford Allen. With the 2020 reunion being the EHS Class of 1960’s 60th reunion, various activities over multiple days are being planned. Classmates are asked to mark their calendars for July 30-Aug. 1, 2020.
