Hardin County Playhouse postpones ‘Heathers’ auditions

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, auditions for the Hardin County Playhouse’s production of “Heathers: The Musical” have been postponed. Originally scheduled for April with performances in June, auditions now are anticipated to take place in June with performances in August.

Audition dates have not been announced. Performances are scheduled for Aug. 7-9 and 13-16.

Written by Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy, the show is a musical adaption of the 1988 dark comedy “Heathers.” Sarah Ryan Dakin serves as director for the playhouse production.

According to the playhouse’s website, a majority of the cast must plausibly look like teenagers. A few singing roles for those age 35 to 50 also are available.

This is the second schedule change HCP has announced because of the COVID-19 outbreak. The community theater canceled performances of “‘night Mother” scheduled March 19-22 related to the community health concerns.

For updates on audition dates and details, go to the theater’s website at hardincountyplayhouse.com or go to facebook.com/HardinCountyPlayhouse.
