Sister Martha Tennison this next week will regale the congregation of the Radcliff First Assembly of God with the truth and wisdom of the gospel as she leads the church’s revival.
“She has you laughing one moment, then hits you with a nugget you didn’t even see coming,” Office Manager Amy Smith said.
The revival will begin at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. It will continue at 7 nightly through Wednesday.
“We pray that people have a very genuine encounter with God and experience the fullness of His peace and joy, and that they realize He is not an abstract God that cannot be touched by our everyday pain and struggles, but that He is very personal and desires to be known in an intimate, life-changing relationship,” Smith said.
Tennison and her late husband, the Rev. Don Tennison, were pastors at the church from 1978-90. Since then, they made it a habit to return for many special occasions and times of revival. Don died last May.
“Sister Tennison is a breath of fresh air. After Bro. Tennison’s death just a year ago, for her to carry on without him is a testimony of her courage and devotion to her savior, Jesus Christ, and her unwillingness to allow anything to slow her down,” Smith said.
According to Smith, the purpose of a revival is to inspire people, young and old, whether Christian or not, to pursue knowing Jesus more personally and devotedly.
Smith said this revival “will be lively and full of Sister Martha’s infectious energy.”
Along with Tennison’s messages, the Radcliff First Assembly of God’s worship team will lead praise and worship.
The church is at 250 Rogersville Road in Radcliff.
