A Louisville man was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with murder in the Sept. 6 shooting death of Juwone Doleman inside a Westport Road residence in Elizabethtown.
Jalen Williams, 21, was arrested at 3 p.m. by members of the U.S. Marshals Service and Louisville Metro Police Department, according to an Elizabethtown Police Department news release.
Elizabethtown police said Williams was wanted in the death of Doleman, 23, of Danville, and the shooting of an adult female in the same residence in the 600 block of Westport Road.
The woman, whose identity has not yet been released, is recovering from her injuries.
According to a warrant from Hardin District Court, Williams allegedly took an unknown sum of cash, a handgun and jewelry belonging to Doleman during the incident. He also took the female victim’s cell phone and discarded it on the side of the road while fleeing the scene, according to the warrant.
According to Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman Chris Denham, Williams was identified as a suspect within hours of the shooting.
“ ... his name was withheld as to protect the integrity of the investigation and in an effort to prevent him from going on the lam,” Denham said.
Williams is charged with murder, first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and tampering with physical evidence.
He is lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of a $1 million cash bond and is scheduled to appear before Hardin District Court Monday morning.
Williams also had an active warrant for first-degree robbery and first-degree wanton endangerment in Jefferson County.
