Man charged with stealing vehicle from family member


A Louisville man was arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly stealing a car belonging to a family member in Hardin County.

According to a police citation, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office executed a complaint warrant that had been issued May 31 for Justin Rodriguez.

According to the citation, Rodriguez, 24, allegedly stole a family member’s vehicle while staying over at their residence in May. A 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, the vehicle is valued was listed on the citation as approximately $11,000.

The vehicle was located by Louisville Metro Police parked about a block away from Rodriguez’s residence.

Theft by unlawful taking or disposition of an automobile valued between $10,000 and $1 million is a Class C felony, punishable by five to 10 years in prison, if convicted.

Rodriguez is lodged at the Hardin County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear Friday morning in Hardin District Court.
