A Vine Grove woman was released Thursday afternoon from the Hardin County Detention Center on a partially secured $5,000 cash bond after she was arrested Wednesday night for striking her husband in the head with a baseball bat.
Lashun Marie Johnson, 48, is charged with second-degree assault, domestic violence, a Class C felony punishable by five to 10 years in prison, if convicted.
According to an arrest citation, Johnson hit her husband above his left ear with the bat, causing a cut. She also reportedly attempted to attack with a knife, but he was able to get the knife and bat away from her.
He was treated at the scene by Hardin County EMS and wasn’t taken for further examination.
Johnson was arrested at 7:32 p.m. by Vine Grove police. She is scheduled to appear June 11 in Hardin District Court.
As part of her bond conditions, she is not to have contact with her husband, drink alcohol or be in possession of weapons.
