A Radcliff couple wanted for a break-in earlier this month at a business was arrested Monday night and now faces multiple charges.
Shawn Childers, 33, and Amanda Childers, 29, were arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop on Dixie Highway at 11:18 p.m., according to arrest citations.
They were wanted for an early morning break-in June 11 at Blue Moon Auto Care on North Wilson Road where multiple tools and goods had been removed through a back door that had forcibly been opened, according to an arrest warrant.
During a search of an Oak Ridge Drive residence in Radcliff and a vehicle, police located items that matched the stolen items, including an Echo brand leaf blower, a Mac brand air hammer and a pry bar that matched the marks left on a door frame, the warrant said.
A warrant was issued Monday afternoon in Hardin District Court for the arrest of the pair and Radcliff police spotted a 2004 Ford Explorer belonging to the couple.
Police found methamphetamine in a front pant’s pocket on Shawn Childers, who was a passenger in the vehicle driven by his wife. Police also found a grinder used for marijuana and a “roach” of marijuana. Police also found a “bag containing a small amount of marijuana” near Amanda Childers.
They each are being held in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond in the Hardin County Detention Center, according to warrants.
Shawn Childers is charged with first offense, first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Amanda Childers is charged with first offense failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance; no registration receipt; no registration plates; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Both are scheduled to appear July 2 in Hardin District Court.
