A Radcliff man is facing 100 counts related to possessing or viewing child pornography after a recent indictment was returned.
Stephen Christopher Heinrich, 60, was arrested Nov. 7 after officers with the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office executed a search warrant on Heinrich’s residence in reference to a peer-2-peer investigation, according to an arrest citation.
The citation said, through an online investigation on the BitTorrent network, a file sharing network sometimes used for child abuse material including child pornography, Attorney General Office detectives identified an IP address associated with a torrent referencing at least one file of interest.
Detectives were able to trace the IP address to Heinrich’s home and upon entry through an unlocked front door into the residence, investigators found a home-built personal computer that was powered on and unlocked with an internet browser open, the citation said.
Multiple tabs were opened on the browser, some with child pornography videos, one of which depicts children the citation said were 8 or 9 years old involved in sex acts.
“The video is 1 minute and 51 seconds in length and the sexual act is the focal point of the video,” the citation said.
Multiple other child sexual abuse files were located on the computer, the citation said.
The computer was in the front room of the residence surrounded by paperwork with Heinrich’s name on them, along with medication bottles prescribed to Heinrich, according to the citation.
Heinrich is facing 25 charges of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, older than 12 but younger than 18, and 25 more counts for children younger than 12. He also is facing 25 charges of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, older than 12 but younger than 18, and 25 more counts for children younger than 12.
The 50 charges involving children younger than 12 are Class C felonies and carries a sentence of five to 10 years in prison for each charge, if convicted.
The other 50 charges are Class D felonies, with a penalty of one to five years in prison on each count, if convicted.
Heinrich is being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond in the Hardin County Detention Center.
