Area high schools now can be nominated for the 2020 Battles in the Bluegrass school spirit program offered by Bluegrass Cellular.
The program allows members of the community to show their support for their local high schools and help one lucky school win a $5,000 prize – to be used for anything the school may need.
High schools in Bluegrass Cellular’s coverage area can be nominated for the Battles in the Bluegrass social media bracket competition until 5 p.m. Sept. 25. Eight schools will be selected randomly to compete.
Once the social media bracket challenge kicks off Oct. 5, schools will battle it out on Bluegrass Cellular’s Facebook page at facebook.com/bluegrasscellular. When the bracket matchups are announced, fans will have 48 hours to vote for their favorite schools by selecting “Like” or “Love” on Facebook posts that contain the paired schools’ mascots or logos.
In a bracket-style competition, the winner from each matchup will advance to the subsequent round. This ultimately leads to the finals, which will determine the school to receive the $5,000 prize.
Each week’s Battles winners will be announced with an updated bracket at midday on Saturdays in October.
