Baptist Health Hardin is celebrating Certified Nurses Day on Sunday by honoring 144 nurses who are board certified in their respective specialties.
Nurses who have achieved board certification receive additional training and education for specific healthcare specialties, according to information from the hospital. As healthcare becomes increasingly more complex, board certified nurses play an increasingly important role in the assurance of high standards of care for patients and their loved ones, the statement said.
The knowledge of modern nursing requires extensive education as well as strong personal commitment to excellence by the nurse, the release said.
“We encourage and support our nurses in attaining national board certification, so they are better positioned to provide the highest quality care for our patients,” Jennifer Woods, vice president and chief nursing officer at Baptist Health Hardin, said in the release.
The nationally certified nurses are being recognized for their specialty practice, professionalism, leadership and commitment to excellence in patient care, the release said.
