A series of forums to discuss how the state court system handles domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual violence, will take place during four virtual events this month.

The forums are part of a statewide assessment by the Administrative Office of the Courts, which is the operations arm of Kentucky’s judicial branch of government. The assessment will seek to identify gaps in the way the court system addresses domestic violence. More than 12,000 criminal cases involving domestic violence and related charges were filed in Kentucky courts, according to state figures.

The four regional forums are scheduled Sept. 27-30 using Zoom conferencing software. The one-hour session designated for Hardin and neighboring counties begins at 4 p.m. EDT Sept. 29.
