Maintenance crews will replace a large culvert pipe under Ky. 1538 this week, which will require the road to be closed.

Work is scheduled to begin today on the highway, which commonly is known as St. John Church Road. Rain could delay repairs and the closure until Wednesday, according to the state Transportation Cabinet’s district highway office. The work is expected to take two days to complete, the announcement said.

Ky. 1538 runs from Rineyville Road to St. John Road. The closure is at mile point 1.8 near the intersection of Kraft Road. Motorists should consider alternative routes and avoid the area.
