A report from the state auditor’s office of the clerk’s fee account in LaRue County include one operational concern.

The review of the 2019 financial statement said former County Clerk Linda Carter did not have adequate segregation of duties over receipts, disbursements and reconciliations.

A common finding in state audits, particularly in small offices, it indicates is a lack of oversight of people responsible for bank deposits or otherwise handling money.

The state auditor’s office also released its audit of the LaRue County Sheriff’s Office, which was in full compliance with accounting standards.
