A Texas man – reportedly accompanied by his 3-month-old son and two “under age juveniles,” according to an arrest citation – is charged with assaulting another man Tuesday morning in Rineyville.
Chase Jones, 19, of Arlington, Texas, is charged with second-degree assault – a Class C felony punishable by five to 10 years in prison, if convicted; first-degree wanton endangerment, a Class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison, if convicted, and misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.
According to an arrest citation, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office was called to a reported fight on Boone Road at 3:09 a.m. Another man and Jones had become involved in an argument and Jones reportedly pointed a handgun at him.
When Jones put the gun away, the two became engaged in a physical altercation with the man suffering a “series of injuries.”
Jones is being held in lieu of a $5,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear today in Hardin District Court.
