The Wesley Hilltop House in Elizabethtown will be hosting its first-ever Hilltop Neighborhood Marketplace and Craft Bazaar Oct. 2, featuring approximately 40 vendors.

The event is set to take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wesley Hilltop House at 1001 Skyline Drive in Elizabethtown. Admission is free and open to the public.

Vendors at the event will primarily be regional and will offer crafts, home décor, jewelry, vintage items, pumpkins and more. Other planned features of the event include food trucks, face painting, bounce houses and other children’s activities.

Organizer Lana Dawson said the event will serve as a way to raise money for Wesley Hilltop programming and as a way to raise awareness of the campus. All booth rental fees will benefit the Wesley Hilltop House, she said.

Dawson said she hopes to make the bazaar an annual event. She said throughout the process of organizing the event, she has received support from Memorial United Methodist Church and from the City of Elizabethtown.

“We’re trying to have something very positive for our community,” she said. “…We really hope it becomes something the whole community looks forward to.”

A campus of Memorial United Methodist Church, the Wesley Hilltop House serves as a community center for residents of Elizabethtown’s Glendale Hill neighborhood, offering several programs such as a weekly dinner, support groups, a little library and a twice-weekly senior program.

“I’m looking to bring pride and joy into that neighborhood,” Dawson said.
