A boil water advisory was issued by the City of Hodgenville at 8 a.m. on Monday.

This affected the areas of Tanner Road, Glendale Road and Old Sonora Road.

Debbie Rucker, water clerk at the city, said the advisory was issued after a water main break. To repair it, the water had to be turned off.

Rucker said typically breaks occur for numerous reasons including age and weather. She said about 70 people live in the area of the advisory.

Repairs were expected to be finished Monday, but water samples must first be approved by the state. Rucker also said this process takes about 24 hours.
