Elizabethtown police are searching for a woman who stole a Mercury Grand Marquis from the Baptist Health Hardin hospital parking lot this afternoon and then struck entrance doors as she fled, police say.

The collision happened around 1:30 p.m. at the entrance doors on the east side of the hospital, according to an EPD news release.

A white female then fled the Marquis after the collision and then got into a small passenger car and fled in it.

"We believe the suspect was attempting to steal the Grand Marquis and accidentally crashed while doing so,'' EPD spokesman Chris Denham said. "We do not believe she intentionally rammed the building.''

Denham said police aren't sure if the suspect, a white female, owned the second car or if she stole it.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact EPD at 270-766-4125 or Hardin County CrimeStoppers at 800-597-8123.
