An Elizabethtown man and former police officer was sentenced this week for a second time on federal charges for accessing with intent to view child pornography.

Brian Leasor, 54, of Elizabethtown, was sentenced by United States District Court to 10 years in prison followed by a life term of supervised release as part of a plea agreement.

He formerly was with the Elizabethtown Police Department.

In 2018, Leasor was serving a 10-year term of supervised release from a 2003 case in which he had pleaded guilty to one count of receiving child pornography.  While in the course of his term of supervised release in the Western District of Kentucky, Leasor was enrolled in a monitoring program for his cellular telephone.

On Oct. 22, 2018, Leasor’s Internet history and computer search terms were reviewed through the monitoring company and his then supervising United States Probation Officer conducted a follow-up review.

The supervising probation officer learned that Leasor had searched the Internet for sexually explicit terms related to young females, according to a news release.

After reviewing the information from the monitoring software, the probation officer searched Leasor's Elizabethtown home. The officer found several unauthorized digital items and seized Leasor’s unauthorized cellular telephone for additional forensic examination.

An examination by the United States Secret Service revealed 40 specific searches involving terms associated with child sexual exploitation that occurred between August and October 2018.  The websites and URLs visited in connection with these searches involved child pornography, the release stated.

Leasor was a nine-year veteran of EPD when he was arrested in 2004 on child porn charges as well as exposing himself to a busload of students in May 2004.
