An Elizabethtown woman was arrested Wednesday after fleeing from police in Radcliff causing some area schools to go into lockdown.

Tesa Ann Nichole Rogers, 18, reportedly was a passenger in a vehicle with an unknown male who fled from police around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Two people ran from the car while it was still moving, according to Ronald Eckart of the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force. The car rolled over a hill and into a drainage ditch in the 100 block of Byerly Boulevard in Radcliff, he said.

Rogers was apprehended and 15 grams of suspected Fentanyl pills, which is more than 100 pills, and five pounds of marijuana were seized from the car, police said.

During the time of the chase, schools near the area were put on lockdown.

John Wright, community relations specialist with Hardin County Schools, said at 11:45 a.m. the Radcliff Police Department contacted Woodland Elementary School in Radcliff and asked the school to go into a lockdown because they were in pursuit of a potentially dangerous person who could be near the school.

As a caution, North Middle School in Vine Grove, which is near Woodland on Ky. 313, also was placed on lockdown.

A soft lockdown was initiated at Meadow View Elementary, Radcliff Elementary, North Park Elementary and North Hardin High School, which means education continued to take place inside the building but no one enters or exits.

Around 30 minutes later, the schools were given an all-clear by law enforcement and the lockdowns were lifted.

Rogers was charged with aggravated trafficking in a controlled substance, greater than or equal to 10 grams carfenanil or fentanyl derivatives, first offense trafficking in marijuana, greater than five pounds and second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot.

She is lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of a $75,000 cash bond.

There is an ongoing investigation into the male suspect who fled, Eckart said.
