The Fort Knox senior commander has directed the installation health protection condition, or HPCON, level be raised to CHARLIE effective Nov. 30. This decision was made as part of prudent measures to maintain operational readiness and protect the community.

Statewide COVID-19 case rate increases, anticipated spikes associated with upcoming holidays and regional contact training capability loss are among the factors that were taken into consideration, despite a comparatively low density of cases on post at this time.

Jan. 19 is projected as the earliest date that the post may return to HPCON BRAVO. However, this determination will be made as conditions warrant.

A Fort Knox COVID-19 Facebook Live town hall meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m. Tuesday where the senior command team, garrison commander and preventive medicine chief will discuss impacts to services and answer community members’ questions.
