A Greensburg woman has been arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of intoxicants after slamming her 2005 Hyundai SUV into the downtown Hodgenville Square just after midnight.
It's the second time in less than three months that a person has driven a vehicle into the square causing heavy damage.
On Dec. 5, a car ran through the middle of the square damaging Christmas decorations and the bronze statue of Abraham Lincoln as a young boy.
Mary Vincent, 59, is charged with first-degree criminal mischief; first offense driving under the influence and failure to maintain insurance after Hodgenville police interviewed her this morning.
According to a Hodgenville Police Department news release, Vincent was traveling west on East Main Street toward Hodgenville when she failed to negotiate the traffic circle and traveled through the square, causing damage to lights, decorations and a truck being used as decoration.
The crash happened at 12:48 a.m.
