A 19-year-old man died from injuries suffered Monday afternoon in a four-car collision on U.S. 62 near Magnet Drive. He has been identified by police as Kaleb Ian Fogle.
According to an Elizabethtown Police Department news release, at around 3:30 p.m. a Ford passenger car driven by a 19-year-old male was headed westbound on U.S. 62 when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed into an eastbound lane, striking a Toyota pickup truck as well as an eastbound GMC SUV.
As a result of the collision between the passenger car and the Toyota pickup, the Toyota pickup overturned and struck an eastbound Chevrolet pickup.
The lone occupant of the Ford passenger car was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. EPD says his name will be released Tuesday.
The lone occupant of the GMC SUV, an adult, was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville and was in critical condition as of Monday night.
There were two adult occupants in the Toyota pickup and a lone occupant of the Chevrolet pickup. All were uninjured, according to the news release.
U.S. 62 was closed to traffic for about four hours.
