North Hardin scored three times in the fourth quarter en route to a 42-6 win over Barren County to begin the Class 6-A playoffs Friday night.

The Trojans will now host Meade County at 7:30 p.m. this Friday at Trojan Stadium.

North Hardin, ranked second in 6-A, improved to 8-0. The Trojans played without star running back La'Vell Wright, a University of Kentucky commit. Wright was on crutches and in a walking boot on his right foot.

North coach Brent Thompson said he expects Wright to possibly be available against Meade County.

Against Barren County, the Trojans found various ways to pull away from a 21-6 halftime lead.

North quarterback Manie Wimberly tossed a 16-yard scoring pass to Jalen Sharps on the opening play of the fourth quarter; Devonte Lemafa returned an interception 98 yards and Jordan Moore recovered a fumble in the Barren County end zone to end a big scoring surge in less than eight minutes of play in the fourth quarter.

North scored on a TD pass from Sharps to Michael Lunz as well a 7-yard run by Wimberly and on a 38-yard pass from Wimberly to Marcus Harris in the first half.
