Kentucky State Police have arrested two local men in connection to a homicide investigation in Magnolia.
Cecil Daniels, 21, and Brandon M. Hodge, 31, were arrested Saturday by KSP and charged with murder.
The two men are accused of shooting Robert W. Myers, 78, at his Magnolia residence in the 10000 block of Hammonsville Road, according to a statement issued by state police.
the Hart County Sheriff's Office requested assistance from KSP around 6 p.m. Friday to conduct the investigation when a body was found in the yard near the residence, the release said.
According to the release, preliminary investigation revealed Myers confronted three white male suspects actively taking items from a residence he owned. The confrontation led to Myers sustaining multiple gunshot wounds, contributing to his death.
Myers was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hart County Coroner’s Office. Three male suspects were observed leaving in a U-Haul truck traveling north on Ky. 357 in Hart County, the release said.
State police located the U-Haul on Saturday, the release said. Daniels and Hodge are being lodged in the Hart County Jail.
