Two 19-year-old men were seriously injured Tuesday night when their vehicle collided with a train near Rineyville.

Both men were transported to the trauma center at University of Louisville Hospital by emergency helicopter, according to Hardin County Sheriff John Ward. Their names were not released but Ward said one lived in Rineyville and the other was from Vine Grove.

Ward said a 2005 Honda Civic traveling west on Kraft Road "failed to yield to an oncoming train."

Railroad authorities have been notified, Ward said.

The investigation is ongoing.
