Don’t judge all by despicable acts of few

I consider a recent column in The News-Enterprise by a local reporter to be so egregious, it begs a challenge. There’s no denying the Capitol attack was despicable, but in her myopic viewpoint, horrible Trump supporters are destroying the nation’s character.

Quick-to-judge people rarely wait for all the facts such as the presence of Antifa and BLM agitators. She can’t appreciate their justifiable outrage over a stolen election. There’s plenty of evidence supporting that claim, but in a fallen nation, Republicans weren’t allowed to make their case.

Trump’s the most honest, transparent, productive leader of my 75-year lifetime – yet he loses to a mentally challenged Swamp Pariah. C’mon, man!

Trump’s followers are the most patriotic, law-abiding citizens ever. One unfortunate incident and they’ve destroyed our image.

Let’s look at the Democrats’ “character.” Nancy’s Pelosi put us through hell with contrived, baseless hoaxes. Collusion, impeachment, “systemic” racism, then another impeachment with Trump halfway out the door. If that isn’t pure hate, what is?

Horrific destruction by BLM and Antifa mobs were labeled “peaceful protests.” Their media stooges assisted them with lies 24/7, completely unsubstantiated – each segment starting “Trump’s a racist” ad nauseum, totally without validation.

Pelosi tore her copy of Trump’s State of the Union address in front of 30 million viewers; Adam Schiff made a mockery of sacred impeachment procedures; Jerry Nadler claims Antifa imaginary; and Maxine Waters “incites” Democrats to harass Trump supporters. Valid corruption and sexual harassment claims against Joe Biden were swept under the rug by complicit media, while a false sexual claim against now Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh almost destroys that honorable man’s career.

Democratic legislators cheered when infanticide was approved – allowing a baby surviving an abortion to die on the delivery table (but kept comfortable).

I question how much this writer really knows about Trump’s achievements. I hope she, and other misguided millenials, are prepared for serious voter remorse.

Jan. 20, 2021, is a dark day in our history. We’ll transition from “one nation under God” to “one Godless nation.”

Maybe now McConnell can focus on USPS

It was disappointing to see that Sen. Mitch McConnell could not find it within himself to support more than $600 to Americans in need but was quite happy to send millions upon millions to other nations as well as sheer American nonsense. I have not been a supporter of the government doling out money we don’t actually have but since they were doing it anyway it might as well have gone to people who, for the most part, work for their money.

Now that he will have almost no influence on important issues, maybe he could begin with something easy like getting the U.S. Postal Service organization to send mail directly from Radcliff to Elizabethtown or vice versa without it having to go to Louisville first. My son who lived in Illinois for ten years told me for mail to go 20 miles to the next closest town it had to go two hours to St. Louis first. Perfect example of government incompetence.

While Sen. McConnell has the last four years been accomplishing important stuff thanks to President Donald Trump, who he stabbed in the back, he in 30 years has not been able to fix out government-run postal service while Amazon and Fed Ex run circles around them. That is just one example of the difference between him and someone who wanted to make America great again.

Yes, I have voted for Sen. McConnell every election he ran always knowing then, as well as now, he’s better than a Democrat, but I also always knew not by much.

More lies. 2 police officers were not killed due to the Jan. 6th protests and no where did you mention the death of decorated, unarmed veteran Ashli Babbitt by a Capitol policeman.

Mr Kennedy your letter is full of falsehoods and misinformation like most of the letters written by republicans these days. Let’s look at the facts not the “BIG LIE” trump has been preaching that you all believe.

1. Trump lost the Election fair and square. William Barr said there was no widespread fraud, Mitch McConnell said there was no interference on the senate floor. Trump went to court approx. 60 times in state and federal courts, twice to the Supreme Court. He lost all of them due to no proof. You all keep crying about there being plenty of proof yet no one can produce it, only talking points. Trump lawyers even had to admit in court that the case wasn’t about election fraud or they could risk losing their license because they had no proof. Trump is a sore loser and so is anyone who believes his lie.

2. Trump incited his followers to storm the Capital and try to stop the counting of the Electoral College on Jan 6th. In doing so 2 capital police officers were killed. The rioters raided and looted the capital building, ransacking desks and offices taking pictures of the paperwork found in them. In one video you can hear the looters say that ted cruz would approve of it. I don’t recall seeing any BLM or Antifa protestors doing that. He rioters on the 6th were trump supporters only, no Antifa, no BLM just plenty of good ole boys from the proud Boys, bogaloo boys, the 3 percenters, and many so called militia groups. These people all themselves patriots, but from trump down to these rioters and their supporters \defenders are all traitors conducting treasonous acts against the country.

3. You claim that a few bad apples made you all look bad. It’s funny how that in previous letters you dismissed that claim against the BLM protestors. Most were peaceful but some of them were out there to loot and cause problems. Does your logic only apply to the trump protestors? I seem to recall other trump minions having protests in the capital that the right blamed on BLM\Antifa. We see who they really are now.

4. Trump was legally impeached for his dealings with Ukraine, trying to force them to dig up dirt on the Bidens. The republican senate held a sham trial and let him off. Now here we are again in 2020 with trump trying to cheat in the election. This time it was more secure and he lost.

5. Trump had Russian assistance to win in 2016. The Mueller investigation found proof of that and so did the republican run senate intel committee.

6. Trump’s failed covid response that allowed the virus to spread across the country. With his refusal to allow any kind of transition of power until the last minute it has hampered what President Biden has been able to do. Trump didn’t even have a distribution plan other than send a few doses to the states.

7. The statements below show how trump delusional you and his followers are “Trump’s the most honest, transparent, productive leader of my 75-year lifetime – yet he loses to a mentally challenged Swamp Pariah. C’mon, man!” and “Trump’s followers are the most patriotic, law-abiding citizens ever. One unfortunate incident and they’ve destroyed our image.”

8. Trump’s achievements are as follows: uncontrolled pandemic, deep recession, Millions on unemployment, 2 impeachments, Over 3000 blatant lies to the American people, the worst president in American history just to name the big ones

Some of Trump's "achievements": an out of control pandemic with 430,000 dead Americans, millions out of work, Iran enriching uraniaum, and agressive sanctions on other countries that will lead to the decline of the US dollar.

China brought the pandemic to the U.S. and based on Biden's non response to the swine flu I'm ecstatic that President Trump was our leader. Prior to the "pandemic" the US had a fantastic economy, Obama and Biden enabled Iran to begin enriching uranium and Trump nearly stopped them without risking a single American life, and the sanctions led to our economy and stopped all our taxpayer dollars going to other countries.

I know memory fades with time but Come On Man! You can remember how great it was if you just focus on the facts versus the party affiliation.
