Protect veterans from COVID threat
COVID-19 is a threat that knows no borders. As a 25-year U.S. Army veteran and COVID-19 survivor, I am compelled to highlight the need for Congress to protect our veterans and active-duty service members here at home and abroad by dedicating funds for a global response to the pandemic while also boosting veterans support programs.
Our veterans at home need greater support, especially those who are experiencing homelessness and are often more susceptible to COVID-19 and other illnesses.
However, we also must combat COVID-19 abroad in order to successfully eradicate this deadly disease and keep it from returning to our communities. More than 70 veterans, including myself, recently sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to make exactly this point. As a fellow veteran, this hits close to home. I understand what it means to sacrifice for our country and we cannot let our veterans down when they need our help the most.
Don’t bury your head to radical goals
In reference to Gary Richardson’s letter in the Sept. 2 edition, surely anyone with average intelligence cannot believe the statement he made. He and may others are playing the part of a human ostrich.
President Donald Trump took over a White House when the country was spiraling out of control and headed for socialism driven by Barack Obama and Joe Biden, his vice president. When the write talks about power grabs, he forgot the efforts of Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi trying to impeach a duly-elected president with unfounded charges.
Biden is not lily white when it comes to sexual involvent. It’s all been swept under the rug.
When Obama was imposing regulations on small business and other businesses across the country with the intent of a big government takeover, no one say anything about Obama telling his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, “I can do more after the election.” What did that mean? And Biden was vice president.
Biden was caught on tape saying he would hold back millions of dollars of aid if the country did not get rid of the official making it hard on his son. More human ostriches ignored that.
Regarding comments that evangelicals like Trump, they understood for once there was a president who believed in the Constitution and what the country was built on. He is a strong president that does not bow down to the Muslim world and their dictators.
If Biden is election and the progressive, socialist Democrats are in power, then our country being a democratic republic will be forever lost. Second Amendment rights will be done away with. I believe guns and all firearms will be confiscated. Don’t forget the past in other countries. History is a good teacher. Obama was striving to this end and Biden was vice president. I have only scratched the surface, but my space is up. I can hear the Socialists weeping and wailing and gnashing their teeth. I hope there well be fewer human ostriches and Trump can be re-elected to preserve the county we all remember.
God bless our troops, our police and God bless America.
America is worth defending so vote
The silent majority cannot be silent any longer. I’m sure you are aware of what is happening to our country. Radicals and their followers are burning buildings and autos, destroying stores and stealing and then painting their garbage words on everything. Mayors and governors are allowing it to happen without opposition.
I am sick of hearing about which lives matter when protestors are killing children, police and others. Everyone matters. This has been going on for years and few speak out. This paper should be filled constantly. Where is your voice? Does the freedom given by our founding documents means so little to you? Read them again and see what they’re taking away.
If you have school-age or college-age children, do you know what they are being taught? They don’t write, they can’t read and they certainly don’t know history based on what they are doing to statues. For years, education has been dumbed down and replaced with radical information. We are living with it now.
It’s insane to believe we can live without structure and the rule of law. Eliminate police? No, talk so everyone understands. If they don’t, get rid of them or jail them. No more mob rule.
If ideas need hearing, speak up. If people who speak radically hold power, vote them out each election. We don’t have to live like this. Take a stand. You are going to have to pick your side, folks.
America is worth defending. Voting is your voice.
