John Hardin girls’ basketball was unable to capitalize on its Saturday win over Thomas Nelson Thursday night at Marion County.

The Lady Bulldogs found themselves down early and returned home with a 60-44 loss to the Lady Knights.

A 12-8 hole for John Hardin expanded into a 29-17 deficit at halftime. At the end of the third quarter, the Lady Bulldogs trailed Marion County by 16 points to open the fourth down 44-28.

John Hardin managed to cut into the Lady Knights’ lead in the fourth. With 2:25 left, the Marion County lead was reduced to 11.

By the game’s end, the Lady Knights again brought the deficit back to a 16-point lead.

With three games left on its regular season schedule, John Hardin (8-16, 2-5) travels to Oldham County Monday for its final regular season road game. The team then hosts district opponent North Hardin Thursday and Nelson County next Friday.
