Three of the top four vote-getters on the girls’ soccer all-5th Region team are from the 17th District, led by Elizabethtown High School senior Anna Grace Carter.
Carter, who led the Lady Panthers in scoring with 17 goals during a 12-2-1 season, finished second in voting by coaches behind Player of the Year Emma Livingston on Bardstown. Bardstown freshman Tate Blincoe was the Defensive Player of the year.
John Hardin junior Kaitlyn Rowlett was third in the voting and E’town senior Ella Durbin was fourth.
Elizabethtown, John Hardin and Central Hardin each placed three players on the 20-player first team, including Central Hardin senior keeper Olivia Fogle, who was named region Keeper of the Year.
Fogle had six shutouts and allowed 17 goals in 16 games, while averaging 6.6 saves a game.
Other Lady Bruins to make the first team are junior Morgan Covey and sophomore Haylie Paynter. In addition to Carter and Durbin, E’town freshman Langley Wallace was named to the first team.
Joining Rowlett from John Hardin are seniors Melissa Wiley and Christiana de la Rosa Pagan. North Hardin senior Niyah Jones also was named first team.
There were 10 local players also chosen for the 20-player second team, including sophomore Taylor Eidson, junior Grace Lane and sophomore Audra Disselkamp of Central Hardin; junior Kristen Swiney, sophomore Charlotte Piwetz and freshman Gabby Barnes-Brown of Elizabethtown; seniors Kylee Newton and Josie Mink of John Hardin and senior Ramiyah McFadden and freshman Madison Yates of North Hardin.
