John Hardin girls’ basketball lost its second straight game Saturday. Taking on Wayne County, the Lady Bulldogs fell behind early on the way to a 57-34 loss to the Lady Cards.

No statistics on the game were made available.

John Hardin (1-3) travels to Elizabethtown Monday for a 17th District matchup. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.


LaRue goes 2-1

The No. 9 Hawks returned home from the St. Xavier Duals in Louisville Saturday with a pair of victories and a loss.

LaRue County started with a 36-33 win over No. 4 Christian County and followed this by beating Boyle County 51-25.

Taking on No. 10 St. Xavier, the Hawks fell 47-27 for their first loss of the season.

Up next for LaRue County is a home meet against Central Hardin and Ryle.

NORTH PICKS UP WIN, LOSES TWO. North Hardin stayed at home Saturday to host its first quad of the season, picking up a 48-30 victory over Apollo. The team suffered a pair of losses as well, falling to Calloway County 42-36 and Caldwell County 45-21.

North Hardin returns to duals action Wednesday with a trip to Lafayette.



MEADE COUNTY 58, BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY 44. The Green Wave moved to 4-0 on the season Friday night with a win over the Fighting Tigers.

Cam Armstead and Casey Turner led Meade County with 13 points each. Canon Decker followed with 10 points. Dylan Abell and Cooper Crump each brought in five points. Phoenix Daak and Lawson King both found three points. Blake Edwards, Shon Fitzner and Kyle Parker all hit two points each.

Armstead, Crump and Turner were the team’s top rebounders with five each.

The Green Wave will return to the court at 8 p.m. Tuesday when they host Henderson County.


MEADE COUNTY 54, BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY 53. The Lady Waves held on in a close one Friday evening on the road against the previously-undefeated Lady Tigers.

This was Meade County’s third straight win.

The Lady Waves (3-2) travel to Owensboro Catholic for a 6 p.m. game against the Lady Aces Tuesday.
