PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Meade girls win, Meade boys fall

Eighth-grader Peyton Brad­ley poured in 14 points and seniors Jenna Gallimore and Dee Griffin added eight points each as Meade County won easily over North Hardin, 58-22, Monday night in girls’ high school basketball play.

Meade County improved to 9-7, while North Hardin dropped to 3-11. It was the sixth straight loss for North.

Twelve players scored for the Lady Waves, who host John Hardin tonight.

North Hardin plays at Central Hardin Thursday night. No scoring information was available for the Lady Trojans.

SPENCER CO. 51, LARUE CO. 27. The visiting Lady Bears pulled away from LaRue County in the second half and snapped the three-game winning streak of the Lady Hawks.

LaRue County, 6-9, was outscored 12-0 in the third quarter and 31-8 in the second half. Spencer County, 13-4, led 20-19 at halftime.

Senior guard Emma Moore led the Lady Hawks with nine points, while senior Kelsey Hornback added eight points and sophomore Natalie Gentry scored five.

LaRue County plays tonight at Marion County.


CAMPBELLSVILLE 65, MEADE CO. 59. Visiting Campbellsville handed Meade County its eighth straight loss Monday night.

Meade County, 5-9, plays at North Hardin Thursday night.
