This past Saturday, Elizabethtown’s Home Grown Wrestling Club sent five of its youth wrestlers to the NUWAY National Duals Mat Mayhem at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville.

Home Grown Wrestling Club wrestlers Willow Darnall, Sunshine Darnall, Grayson Knoth, Naiya Delos Santos and Dylan Hobbs were selected to represent Kentucky and to wrestle on the Kentucky National Duals Team.

The Kentucky National Duals Team was comprised of 45 of some the best youth wrestlers in Kentucky. They represented 18 different wrestling clubs and wrestling teams from across the state. The wrestlers were brought together to form four different youth teams to represent the state’s youth wrestling.

All together, the four youth wrestling teams formed two 8U teams, one 10U team and one 12U team. The teams wrestled in seven matches throughout the day against some of the top youth wrestlers from various states across the country. States the Kentucky teams wrestled against included Iowa, West Virginia, Ohio, Missouri and South Carolina.

Three of the Kentucky youth teams finished in the top five. One of the 8U teams and both the 10U and 12U teams all finished in 5th place.
