Senior running back KeAndre Johnson rushed for 268 yards on 13 carries and scored four touchdowns to help lead Central Hardin to a 38-18 Class 6A, District 2 hammering of Meade County Friday night in Cecilia.

Johnson scored on touchdowns runs of 53, 54, 78 and 31 yards for the Bruins (1-3).

With three-tenths of a second left in the first quarter, Johnson ripped off his 53-yard run on a jet sweep right. Evan Jones added the point-after for a 7-0 lead.

Meade County closed within 7-6 when Austin Oppel scored on a 15-yard run with 3:42 left in the second quarter. The Bruins stuffed JT Godsey on the 2-point run to hold the 7-6 lead.

Central Hardin responded on its next possession, as Evans drilled a 21-yard field goal with :03.4 seconds left for a 10-6 halftime lead.

The Bruins needed just two plays after the second half kickoff to expand its lead. Johnson flashed his speed again, scoring from 54 yards. Evans’ PAT made it 17-6.

With the game still close, the Central Hardin defense responded. On fourth down from the Bruin 13-yard line, linebacker Gabriel Martinez swatted away a pass attempt to give the ball back to Central.

Johnson provided the knockout punch three plays later, ripping off a 78-yard touchdown run with 3:07 left. Evans’s PAT made it 24-6.

Trent Hill then followed an interception by teammate Terry Brooks to score on a 3-yard run and 31-12 lead.

Johnson finished his night with a 31-yard touchdown run to make it 38-12.

Oppel added a 2-yard run for Meade County (1-5) and quarterback Kyle Parker threw a 5-yard TD pass to J.J. Richardson.
